Brass Plates Treat
   

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cool Time: 10 minutes

Pre-heat oven to 350°

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. corn syrup
  • 1 c. creamy peanut butter
  • 1 c. butterscotch chips
  • Twizzlers® Pull ‘N’ Peel chocolate licorice
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 6 c. Rice Krispies®
 
 
 
You’ll love this chewy, butterscotch variation of Rice Krispies®  treats. Add a few strands of licorice and your treat looks like brass plates!
 

Directions:

 
  1. Stir corn syrup and sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat until mixture comes to a full rolling boil.
  2. Remove saucepan immediately from heat and stir in peanut butter.
  3. Stir in cereal.
  4. Press into a greased 9” x 13” pan.
  5. In a double-boiler melt butterscotch chips.
  6. Spread over treats.
  7. Cut into 24 pieces while still warm and then cool.
  8. Make three holes through the left of each treat (top and bottom) with a toothpick and loop a 3” piece of licorice through each set of holes (see photo).

Treat Time:

Treats could be made ahead of time and left in pan to cool. Cut and make into “plates” after the lesson.
